Description
The letter concerns Epstein's daily life and his work, mentioning his trip through France and Italy, a commission for sculpture and windows for a church in Devon, his progress working on his Hyde Park group (possibly 'Rush of Green' 1959) and that he is designing a statue of Lloyd George for the House of Commons. The letter also refers to his problems with the sale of 'Ecce Homo', news of Jackie and Kathleen, that a bust of Kitty is at the Carnegie show in Pittsburgh, that Matt Smith is in hospital, his opinion of the new sculptors, and he sometimes sees Oriel Ross and Tania. The letter is enclosed with a photograph of Jacob Epstein. Includes original envelope.
