Hugo Laurenz August Hofmann von Hofmannsthal (German: ˈːɡ ɔ ˈːڳԲٲː ; 1 February 1874 – 15 July 1929) was an Austrian novelist, librettist, poet, dramatist, narrator, and essayist.
