Free Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden Performance

Tate Tapes Listening Party

9 July 2025 at 12.30–14.30
Image shows a young person wearing headphones and using a sound recorder while stroking the leaves of a tree in Hepworth's sculpture garden.

Ian Kingsnorth, Tate St Ives

Listen to new experimental audio works inspired by Hepworth created by local artists and young people

Join us for artist performances at the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. With new work from local contemporary artists Jasmine Blackmoore and Cassius Nymh.

Each artist will perform outside in the gardens. Jasmine Blackmoore will use biofeedback from plants in Hepworth's garden to create a live, playful, soundscape. Cassius Nymh will perform a response to the sound potential and volumes of Hepworth's sculptures.

In the greenhouse, listen to experimental audio tour of the gardens created by local school students; Amelie, Arthur, Chayse, Denzel, Gabby, Jacob, Kerenza, Lucas, Merryn, Noah, Tean and Tia with artists Peach Doble and Cassius Nymh. These suggest ways for engaging with sculptures and natural environments through sound. They also document the ways in which the young people chose to explore the garden.

This public event is part of a day-long celebration marking the end of °Õ²¹³Ù±ð’s second year working with students from Truro and Penwith Multi Academy Trust Schools through our Create Club, led by artist Peach Doble and supported by The Mildred Fund.
