Celebrate the difference and diversity that has helped shape Britain through looking at works from the Tate collection. During this tour we will think about how artists have responded to issues and narratives in recent British history, such as immigration, feminism, racial and sexual identity, AIDS activism, music and club culture.
In this tour we see and explore paintings that record recent history through the eyes of artists, some of whom may have been marginalised in the story of British art. Some visitors may find works in the display provocative or controversial.
This tour is delivered in spoken English by guide Richard Thomas with British Sign Language interpretation by Jacqui Bedford. Hearing loops and amplifiers available. Please meet in the Manton Foyer.
