Members are invited to book a seat for a special rehearsed reading of Light and Shadow, a play written by Peter Lantos, during their private view of The EY Exhibition: Impressionists in London.
This is an exciting opportunity to get a unique glimpse into the life of James (Jacques) Tissot, French painter and illustrator. Light and Shadow tells the story of an extraordinary love affair between Tissot and an Irish Catholic divorcee, Kathleen Newton, in the setting of Victorian high society.
The reading will be performed inside Room Two of the exhibition, Tissot and High Society, by actors from the So and So Arts Club. Please note ticketing is free and guarantees you a seat for the performance. The exhibition will still be accessible to all, until 21.30.
The evening Private Views are the perfect time to see the exhibition outside of gallery hours and are a great social occasion for an evening with friends.
