The Language of Flowers and Decay

18 May 2019 at 12.00–17.00
Vincent van Gogh Sunflowers 1888 National Gallery, London

Vincent van Gogh Sunflowers 1888 National Gallery, London

Join artist Yuen Ling Chiu for a tour of The EY Exhibition: Van Gogh and Britain followed by a printmaking workshop

Experiment with rollers, barens, and specialist papers to create a small series of block and monoprints. Combine traditional hand printing techniques with contemporary materials and surfaces to generate marks, textures and colour ways. The session draws inspiration from flowers and decay in the works of Vincent van Gogh, Anselm Kiefer, Anya Gallaccio and Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Biography

Yuen Ling Chiu is the Printmaking Technical Coordinator at London College of Communication, UAL. Her printmaking and installation practice explores the architecture of memory, migration and empire.
