Poetry reading with John Cooper Clarke

1 October 2013 at 21.00–22.30

John Cooper Clarke is a movie star, a rock star, a comedian and most importantly a poet. This is a unique opportunity to see and hear him at Tate Britain.

Known as the ‘Bard of Salford’, he delivers biting, satirical and political social commentary in verse. John Cooper Clarke began performing around Manchester during the late 1970s, when he became known for his rapid-fire performance style and was crowned the ‘punk poet’. Described by the Telegraph as ‘godfather of British performance poetry’, John Cooper Clarke is as relevant and vibrant today as ever.
