Visit the exhibition in the morning before the gallery opens to the public

Start your day by exploring 400 years of artworks from women artists. Including over 150 works, the show dismantles stereotypes surrounding artists who were often thought of as amateurs. The exhibition includes works from Tudor times to the First World War, and showcases artists including Mary Beale, Angelica Kauffman, and Laura Knight.

Looking to relax after you visit the exhibition? The Members Room opens at 10.00, so stop by and treat yourself to a hot drink and a bite to eat. Don't forget to stop by the shop to use your discount too.

Tate Britain's step-free entrance is on Atterbury Street. It has automatic sliding doors and there is a ramp down to the entrance with central handrails.

The Exhibition is on the Lower floor of the gallery.

  • Accessible, standard and Changing Places toilets are located on the Lower floor.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the ticket desk on the Lower floor.

To help plan your visit to Tate Britain, have a look at our visual story. It includes photographs and information about what you can expect from a visit to the gallery.
