Boris Charmatz and Emmanuelle Huynh present the duet boléro 2 in tribute to its choreographer, Odile Duboc

Performed to Maurice Ravel’s iconic orchestral piece µþ´Ç±ôé°ù´Ç, the duet is an excerpt from Duboc’s 1996 Trois µþ´Ç±ôé°ù´Çs.

Duboc described Charmatz and Huynh’s performance as having ‘something of abandon and sweetness, of attraction and desire, and of fusion and tearing away.’

boléro 2 inspired Charmatz and Huynh’s étrangler le temps which is also performed on the Turbine Hall ramp earlier in the day as part of a special weekend programme developed for Tate. Both pieces are presented as a counterpoint to the vast collective performance of 10000 Gestures.
