Take a British Sign Language guided tour of this landmark exhibition

Soul of a Nation presents era-defining artworks that changed the face of art in America. With a starting point of 1963, the height of the Civil Rights movement, artists respond to these times by provoking, confronting, and confounding expectations. Vibrant paintings, powerful murals, collage, photography, revolutionary clothing designs and sculptures made with Black hair, melted records, and tights – the variety of artworks reflects the many viewpoints of artists and collectives at work during these explosive times.

This tour is delivered in British Sign Language by guide Martin Glover. Please meet on the concourse of Boiler House, Level 3 (West)

If you have any other access needs that you would like to let us know about please contact: Anna Murray, Assistant Curator: Access anna.murray@tate.org.uk or call +44 (0)20 7887 8888
