​This seminar will take place on Franz West's own couches artwork, which were intended to be used in this way. Led by Dr Henry Somers-Hall​, ​in collaboration with Dr. Sacha Golob. The seminars will be followed by a private view of the exhibition.

Biographies
Henry Somers-Hall
Henry Somers-Hall is Reader in Philosophy at Royal Holloway. He completed his PhD at University of Warwick with a thesis focusing on the responses of Gilles Deleuze and G. W. F. Hegel to certain problems emerging from Kant’s transcendental idealism. His research concerns the interrelations of German idealism and French philosophy generally, demonstrating that reading that tradition in the light of German idealism allows us to see new continuities between its phenomenological and post-structuralist approaches.
Sacha Golob
Sacha Golob is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at King’s College London and the Co-Director of the Centre for Philosophy and the Visual Arts (CPVA). Before joining King’s, he was a Fellow at Peterhouse, Cambridge. He has published extensively on modern French and German Philosophy and the Philosophy of Art. His current research looks at contemporary conceptions of degeneration, transformation and virtue.
