Super Heroes Workshop with Jason Ford

26 October 2018 at 15.30–16.30
superhero illustrations

Join illustrator Jason Ford for an afternoon of activities to create your own superhero universe

This workshop is inspired by Jason Ford’s The Super Book for Superheroes an activity book full of ideas, drawing, colouring and activities that allows you to create your own crusaders for justice who do battle with supervillains, unravelling their crazy schemes for taking over the world.

You will create your own superhero, their sidekicks, secret hideouts, outfits and super gadgets, while also learning to draw supervillains such as the Mad Scientist, Bog Creature and Evil Robot. And there are superpowers to discover to make your own comic strip – such as invisibility, super strength, speed, flight, heat vision, teleportation and X-ray vision.

Activities include collage and drawing.

Suitable for children aged 6+. Alternative colouring and drawing activities will be provided for children aged 5 and younger.

Biography

Jason Ford is a British illustrator whose approach to image making has been heavily influenced by a childhood diet of Tintin and Marvel comics and continuing love of French and Belgian bande dessinée. His work has been commissioned by The Royal Mail, American Airlines, The New Yorker magazine, Penguin Books and the Guardian newspaper. He is also the author of the popular The Superbook for Superheroes and the follow-up titles, The Superhero Comic Kit and the Superhero Handbook, all published by Laurence King. He lives and works in a secret HQ somewhere in the metropolis of London.
