Rima Musa

Come to our pop-up record shop to browse a selection of 7鈥 singles, all made from cardboard and paper. Sound artist Imaginary Record Shop celebrates the visual culture of vinyl record sleeves, inviting you to design your own 7鈥 jackets to contribute to the shop.

Biography

is a sound artist, designer and electronic musician who produces work that explores the realms of sound through exquisitely designed pieces.

Suzuki was born in Tokyo in 1980. Between 1999 and 2005 he worked for Japanese art unit Maywa Denki, where he developed a strong interest in music and technology. In 2005 he moved to London to study at the Royal College of Art.

Suzuki鈥檚 work raises questions of the relation between sound and people and how music and sound affect people鈥檚 mind. Suzuki鈥檚 sound art pieces and installations have been shown in exhibitions all around the world.

In 2013, Suzuki was appointed as platform tutor at Design Products department in Royal College of Art and member of New Radiophonic Workshop.

Following 2014, Museum of Modern Art New York acquired his work OTOTO the DIY musical instrument, comprising of a built-in a synthesizer and sampler and Colour Chasers to their permanent collection.

Yuri Suzuki is collaborating with ZEEL and Orson, Stephen Fowler, Nik Nightingale, Max Walker, Aidan, and Recebba for this project.
