Learn more about this powerful exhibition on this one hour tour with a Tate Guide.

Zanele Muholi describes themselves as a visual activist. From the early 2000s, they have documented and celebrated the lives of South Africa’s Black lesbian, gay, trans, queer and intersex communities.

Their work has been exhibited all over the world. With over 260 photographs, this exhibition presents the full breadth of their career to date.

The exhibition is based on the artist’s 2020-21 exhibition at ºÚÁÏÉç and will include new works produced since then.

ºÚÁÏÉç's entrance is via the Turbine Hall on Holland Street. There are automatic sliding doors and a ramp down to the entrance.

The Exhibition is on Level 3 of the Natalie Bell Building. There are lifts to every floor of the Blavatnik and Natalie Bell buildings. Alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Fully accessible toilets are located on every floor on the concourses.
  • A quiet room is available to use in the Natalie Bell Building on Level 4.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the Ticket desks.
