Margo Maeckelberghe: Extended Landscape

26 January – 11 May 2008
Exhibition banner for Margo Maeckelberghe at Tate St Ives

A long-awaited solo show of the Cornish born painter, Margo Maeckelberghe (born 1932) completes the spring show at Tate St Ives this January. Renowned for her expressive coastal landscapes that explores the underlying structures of natural forms, this select exhibition draws together three distinct periods of work, from a career which has continued to evolve since the 1950s. A proactive member of the local artist community, Maeckelberghe is a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists, former Chair of the Penwith Society and a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedd. Her work is in many private and public collections both in the UK and abroad, including the British Council, Victoria and Albert Museum, Toronto University Collection in Canada and the Kunst Museum, Berlin, Germany.
