Description

[Translation/transcription]

c/o Dr. W. Feilchenfeldt
116 Freiestrasse, Zurich

9.XI.50

My dear Magister Hodinus, since a couple of months am trying to find a place where it does not rain. So far in vain, therefore I did only one painting in Salzburg (view of). In Munich the success of the exhibition was overwhelming, pages full in every newspaper and magazine. Now they open it at Hamburg Kunsthalle, where I cannot go personally although I got used to be Ehrengast [guest of honour] of the country, listening to speeches and collecting Ehrendoktor [honourary doctorate] scrolls. On the 15. Nov. my 'Orpheus and Eurydike' will be given again in Frankfurt a. M. It promises to be a spectacular return of the prodigal son for it was in the same town 25 years ago that this play had first been given. Love to you both, yours OK
