Description

In this letter Browne informs Watson that she is now a member of the militia. She talks about doing guard duty and how difficult it is without a good understanding of the language. She mentions the arrival of three Jewish tailors who cycled from England to join the militia and talks generally about life in the barracks including the shortage of uniforms and the 'Enormous cubic women' who run the catering department. She also talks about the uncertainty of the situation and the lack of clarity about where she may be sent next.
