Description

Graphite, crayon, chalk, and pastel on paper, 16 pages, 1 page and back cover are missing, 315 × 215 mm

The drawings in this sketchbook include studies for the portraits of Mark Longman and Lord Rayne, both were finished in 1970 (though begun in November 1968 an October 1966 respectively). They represent advanced stages, and evidently date from either 1969 or 1970. The other drawings; of an eagle, a moth and so on, are harder to place but were probably made about the same time. Over half of the pages are blank in this sketchbook.
