From this collection, selected items have been digitised which provide an insight into Bernard Meninsky's life, and work as an artist and teacher, particularly shedding light on his struggle with mental illness, insecurity, and depression, and his work as a commissioned war artist. Items available to view online include: certificates documenting Meninsky's naturalisation in Britain and a second prize award from the Scholar's magazine; sketches and artworks by Meninsky featuring sketches of his father, female figures and commissioned work from the second world war; manuscripts and typescripts from Meninsky's, 'The art of drawing'; a notebook featuring extracts and quotes from various authors which were meaningful to Meninsky during his struggle with depression; and photographs of Bernard Meninsky, his family and his friends.
